The Old Bank House: Transformation to Apartments 

28 High Street, Bushey, Hertfordshire, UK

Completed in 2023, Simon Kaufman Architects successfully secured planning permission and played a key role in the refurbishment and conversion of a locally listed former commercial bank into five new residential apartments, located in the heart of Bushey. This building is nestled within a conservation area and holds local heritage significance.

Our design approach meticulously preserves all the charming period features that define this historic property. Extensive collaboration with conservation officers was paramount, as they held a keen eye for the materials and finishes employed in this project. It was essential for our design drawings to faithfully represent the historical intricacies of the building to gain approval.
